Another Dose Of Joloism

Two years ago, I wrote something about Jolo, a friend's son. I'm coining a new Owenictionary word from him. The word is Joloism.

\ˈjō-lō-i-zəm\ - the expression of Jolo's thoughts on just about anything..... Hahaha!

Few days ago, I got the chance to encounter this young mind again and as usual, I was blown away. They came here to Singapore for a brief visit as a relative of theirs had a surgery (masectomy) because of breast cancer - (Btw, the operation was very successful). We only had at most 1.5 hours to catch up and we decided to have breakfast together at their hotel.

Halfway through the conversation, my friend reminded Jolo.....

Mom: "See Jolo, life is full of surprises. We should always try to stay healthy at all times. Eat the right food, exercise and think of happy thoughts.
Jolo: "Ok"

Silence.....

Two minutes after, Jolo came back with....

Jolo: "Mommy, what if eating junk foods and being lazy give me happy thoughts?"
Me: ~puzzled look~
Mom: "What do you mean?"
Jolo: "I can just imagine myself eating a lots of ice cream and chips, seated on the sofa and watching TV. I'm sure that will make me very happy."

Both of us wanted to laugh but we needed to control ourselves as the kid might take it differently. The mom could only say this.....

Mom: "Jolo, we have to be balanced with everything. We can eat foods like that once in a while, we can watch TV once in a while, but we have to consciously exert efforts to at least to eat healthy, and have plenty of exercise.

I felt good seeing them again!
