Kwentong Tambay Ni Nicanor David
I know most of you must be expecting a chronicle or maybe a photo-post of my trip to New Zealand. But believe it or not, I still think that my mind is not yet there to start the recollection. Being away for a holiday, it only means that I will have to catch up with the emails/work that I need to read (needless to mention) and respond to them. Amazingly, I had to answer 201 emails (excluding personal inbox, spam and junk mails) with that 5-day long absence. Not that I mind doing them, but there’s really no option left for me. Is there?
Even my pics, I haven’t sorted them out from my memory cards/hard drive, and still have to sit down with them, before I can even start a decent post about them. Ooops, as if I have ever written one. Hahaha.
Ok, admittedly, I am very good in procrastinating.
Ok, back to the title of this post.

I am sure most of you must have heard or read about Batjay and his Kwentong Tambay. Luckily, I had the privilege of meeting up with him before, when he and his loving wife Batjet were still based here in Sunny Singapore. If you have been following this blog, I mentioned in my first ever post that Batjay and the whole SGFlips group were the ones who encouraged me, or inspired me rather, to start with blogging. SGFlips was formed by “trulyly” friends who initially met through blogging. Just read my first post to fully understand what I mean.
Anyway, last Monday, when going through with my mails, I got this mail informing me of a book penned by no other than “The Man” himself, Batjay. Of course, I felt so excited, having to know that a person I know has a book published. You know that feeling of having someone in your circle that you can really be proud of having known. Starstruck ba!!! Believe me, he is a star to us.
I haven’t read the book but I heard that it is a collection of essays, stories, anecdotes about being an OFW, most of them were previously published in his Blog.. Being a certified OFW myself, and without mentioning that the author is a friend of mine, I know I will be able to enjoy this book. I will be able to relate with what is written inside.
The book was launched last September 3 over a Book Fair in Manila, but starting last Friday, Sept 08, it is now carried on all FILBARS Bookstore all over the Philippines. If I am not mistaken, there is a branch at the basement of SM Megamall Bldg A. At this point, some other places carry the book already. And it is very economically priced at P125.00 only.
So ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, to all OFWs, to all who has relatives or friends as OFW (read as 99% of all Pinoys), grab a copy of your book, for your own reading pleasure and it can be a good gift idea for Christmas as well. The “ber’ months are in so it’s a good idea to start stacking gifts for the yuletide season.
Oh yeah, once you have that, maybe I can help you get your copies signed. Hahaha, if I can catch him later. Pero bili muna kayo!!! Hahaha!
NZ post coming next.
